I got amazing value for my money at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the river and jungle. The location was perfect for some peace and quiet, away from the noise of the city. The staff treated me like royalty, with a smile and always ready to help.
The food for breakfast could have been better with a greater variety.

The bungalows at Milkyway Holiday Resort are nestled in a beautiful forest of palm trees and plants, surrounded by tranquil swampy canals. It feels like a magical escape, where you can truly connect with nature and find your inner peace. As a nature-loving guest, I absolutely adored the serene atmosphere and the sense of being immersed in the lush greenery.
The only thing I liked less about my stay at Milkyway Holiday Resort was the view from the room. While some rooms offer a sea view, mine didn't have that advantage.

We had a delightful stay at Yoho Milky Way. The owner's hospitality was exceptional, and they kindly upgraded our room. The surrounding area is picturesque and peaceful. The lunch they served was delicious, and we enjoyed a perfect pot of tea in the morning and evening. The smaller room is ideal for solo travelers, while I recommend a larger room for couples.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The Milkyway Holiday Resort was a little piece of paradise for me. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, it offered a serene and peaceful environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. The hotel's decoration was tasteful and added to the overall charm of the place. The general areas, such as the gardens and lounging spaces, were thoughtfully designed with comfortable seating and accessibility for senior people. It was a delight to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Sri Lankan wildlife, including the beautiful birds, right from the hotel premises. The staff, especially the children working there, were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The huge beds with mosquito nets provided a comfortable and safe sleeping experience, perfect for seniors like myself. With just a short tuk-tuk ride, I could easily reach the vibrant Unawatuna beach, making it a convenient location for exploring and enjoying the coastal area.
My only suggestion would be to offer additional amenities specifically catered to the needs of senior guests.

The Ambiance and Overall Experience: Staying at this resort was like being immersed in a nature-filled wonderland. I felt like Snow White, surrounded by a symphony of singing birds and the mesmerizing sight of various animals roaming freely. It was a magical experience that left me in awe.
Construction Noise: Unfortunately, there was ongoing construction both on the property and nearby, which disrupted my peaceful stay.

I was in awe of the stunning palm tree jungle surrounding Milkyway Holiday Resort. The atmosphere was serene and romantic, with only the soothing sounds of birds chirping. The manager went above and beyond to ensure our happiness, even arranging a special dinner for us when we couldn't make breakfast. The kindness of the owner was truly exceptional. Despite a small issue with the breakfast, everything else was perfect, from the cleanliness of the bungalow to the refreshing outdoor shower. The value for money was excellent, with added touches like a welcome drink of coconuts. I highly recommend this beautiful oasis of calmness and natural beauty.

I had a fantastic experience at this lovely resort. The bungalow I stayed in was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view of the surrounding nature, including a river and jungle. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The owner provided exceptional service, always with a smile and ready to help. The breakfast was delicious, and I was even treated to fresh coconuts during my stay. The peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff made this a truly enjoyable experience.
I did encounter a small issue with the lack of hot water in the bathroom.

The hotel's decoration is charming, with a cozy and rustic feel that senior guests will appreciate. The common areas are well-maintained, providing a welcoming atmosphere to relax and socialize with fellow guests. Additionally, the resort's accessibility for senior people is commendable, with well-lit pathways and handrails in place to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
It would have been even better if the noise from nearby construction sites had been mentioned prior to my stay. Although it did not bother me personally as I was mostly out exploring, some senior guests seeking tranquility may find it disappointing.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hidden gem in the mangroves. The owner and his son were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. The apartment was fully equipped and spotlessly clean, providing a refreshing jungle experience. The views of the river, palm trees, and colorful birds were breathtaking. The free breakfast and bicycles were a bonus, and we even arranged a scooter rental. The location was perfect for relaxation and privacy, away from the busy beach area. We also enjoyed visiting the beautiful Buddhist rock temple nearby. Highly recommended for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups of friends. We can't wait to come back!
We felt very lucky during our stay, as the staff at the resort went above and beyond to ensure our happiness. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

The resort had a beautiful and lush garden filled with palm trees and little rivers. They even upgraded us on arrival and provided us with free tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. the bed was super comfortable and the outdoor shower, even in the rain, was a refreshing treat. the owner was very generous and gave us a cup of coffee for the road, and even took us to the bus stop when it was raining.
The location was a bit far from the beach and not within walking distance. It would have been better if they offered bicycles to use.
